Pressure Treated Poles & Pilings
Cost-effective Longevity: The Benefits of Treated Wood
Treated Lumber is Stronger and Lasts Longer
Pressure treated wood has a longer life span due to reduced heartwood exposure. It's also stronger and suffers less warping than dimensional timbers. Long life span and superior strength make treated wood very cost-effective.
Kiln Drying Wood Before Treatment
The most common failure of wood poles is rot and decay at the ground line. By kiln drying your poles before they are treated, we significantly increase the life of your project.
Kiln drying pulls excess moisture from the pole, allowing the pressure treatment to fully penetrate the wood. The additional cost of this service is minimal (usually less than $1 for a 4″ Top x 8 ft pole), especially considering the fact that kiln-drying will effectively double the life of a pole used in the ground.
All of our poles and pilings treated .60 pcf or greater are kiln dried before treating to ensure maximum penetration of the preservative.

Long Lasting Polymer Coated Poles
Use Polyshield® Protective Wood Coating for Ultra Protection
Get the most life from your poles and pilings with our amazing wood coating, a protective polymer coating engineered for use on wood. The special coating bonds to wood, creating a protective barrier that is impenetrable by marine borers or termites. It also assures environmental protection because it prevents the leaching of the chemicals used for treating the wood into the surrounding soil or water.
Engineers and contractors offer poly coated wood to set them apart as offering a product no one else can offer. It is a cost-effective value-add upgrade for customers, creating a product that will last virtually forever. For utility companies, the benefits of saving labor and material costs are immense.

Additional Information
Pole vs. Piling
Poles are defined by their particular structural installation. If the pole is set with the butt (large end) in the ground, such as a utility pole or barn pole, it is referred to as a pole.
Pilings are also defined by the installation. Pilings are driven into the ground with the tip (small end) first.
FSC Certified® Materials
To meet LEED and other “green” construction standards, we are certified to supply FSC certified® approved wood products per your specifications.
Treatment Options
We offer multiple treatment options:
- CCA -- most effective for marine & foundation applications
- CA -- ground contact & above ground applications
- MCA -- lighter color, for ground contact & above ground applications
- Creosote Poles -- utility poles & industrial applications
